Yogyakarta (30/03/2024) - In the spirit of togetherness and solidarity ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, the student community from the Faculty of Language, Literature, and Culture at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta organized a charity event titled "BDS Berbagi" at Yauma Orphanage in Bantul.

The month of Ramadan was taken as an opportunity to share blessings with others, manifested through the collection of donations from various groups from March 12 to 21, 2024. The donations received were not only in the form of cash but also food, with the aim of easing the burden of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. The funds raised reached an impressive total of Rp. 7,122,000.

The social service team from the BDS student community departed from the meeting point at the Faculty of Language, Literature, and Culture, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, at 2:00 PM. Upon arrival at Yauma Orphanage in Bantul, the activities proceeded with enthusiasm and joy starting at 3:30 PM. The event began with a theater performance showcasing inspiring works by Regenbogen, a student theater group known for its creativity. The theater performance not only entertained but also conveyed profound moral messages to the audience.

BDS Berbagi event at Yauma Orphanage in Bantul concluded with a collective prayer. This touching and warm moment was accompanied by expressions of gratitude from the orphanage, which felt greatly assisted by the contributions made. Through this activity, the students not only learned about the importance of sharing and caring for others but also experienced the joy of seeing the smiles and happiness radiating from the faces of the orphanage children.

Overall, BDS Berbagi was a great success, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and inspiring all involved to continue doing good in the future. With the spirit of togetherness still burning brightly, BDS is ready to continue with other positive activities for the common good. (Nindya)
